Do you remember the 21st night of September?

When I cannot think of things to write about, I decide to post pictures. So here are a couple of pictures I've taken and then edited. There are more on my Flickr - Click Here

This is my roommate and her boyfriend...I added texture to the picture in Photoshop. If you click on the picture so it becomes larger you can really see the texture.

This is my friend Sarah, who is now married to my friend Zach. She's beautiful!

Here is Hammons Field in Springfield. I thought allowing the color to show only where the letters were would be neat.

Let me know what you think!

Coffee

I love coffee. I just thought I'd share. This is one of my favorite things to drink....a caramel latte!

Also, I have been uploading pictures onto Flickr...here's the web address to check them out - www.flickr.com/photos/lizkat/

Bean-ie Baby!

I apologize for the delay in updating! I've been slacking.

Let's see what's been going on...I found out that I did not get accepted into the graduate program at MU. I was pretty devastated when I read the letter, but after I let it soak in I have been able to understand that God has better plans for me. Maybe right now I am not supposed to go or maybe He has a completely different plan for me. I've been trying to figure out what is the next step. Should I apply again? Should I take some graphic design classes and GRE again? Or should I just not apply again at all?

It is a good thing that I have a good job right now.

What else has been going on you may wonder? Well, my friend Jenny and I went to St. Louis/Chicago/Indiana last week. We took the MegaBus from St. Louis to Chicago and then a train from there to South Bend, IN for our friend Amy's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding! It was great to see how focused on God Adam and Amy are and how that is what they wanted to convey through their wedding. They used a couple of Dave Barnes songs during the ceremony and for the unity candle had a friend sing "Center" by Charlie Hall. I love the words to that song.

I thought I would add a few pictures from the wedding and in Chicago. The first one is a slice of Chicago-style pizza at Giordano's! Delicious!

This is Chloe. Amy's neice and flowergirl at the wedding. She was so cute!

Here are Jen and I with Amy...Beautiful girls!! I love them so much! Jen and I are in black dresses because we were part of the "Women of Grace" and "Men of Honor" that sat on the stage during the ceremony. It was neat!

I thought I'd add this picture too... This is Kristin, Amy, Jessica and Amber - they met at missionary training before they all went to Europe. (Amber, if you're reading this, I will send you more pictures, but I thought if you wanted to you could save this one!)

We had a few hours to spend in Chicago before our return bus on Sunday. We, of course, went to The Bean!! This thing is so neat!

Finally, I got a bit artsy on this one...I think it turned out pretty sweet!

Tiny Dancer

My 23rd birthday has come and gone. It does make me a bit sad the one day a year all about me is over. That sentence makes me sound self-centered, but it's true. Each person's birthday is their special day. The day of their first breath and glimpse of the world. Don't hear me wrong, it was a great day. I bought myself Starbucks, a friend at work took me to Ocean Zen for lunch and my old roommate, Kristen, and her husband, Chris, took me to dinner at Zio's. I guess I am just sad that it is over and I have to wait another year for it to come again.

I feel sick...awful, awful sick...

I'm sick. If you've been around me in the last few days you would be able to know that I am not feeling well. I haven't been able to talk very well because if feels as if my throat is closing in on itself. When I woke up this morning, my throat hurt...more than it has ever hurt before. It kind of freaked me out. By the time I got to work I could barely speak above a whisper. This is not good when your job relies on answering a phone. Thankfully another girl could answer calls for me. I called the doctor, but my doctor is not in the office today so I will have to see her tomorrow. My voice is still very hoarse and scratchy, but it does feel a little better...I might be imagining it or the Advil might be kicking in.

I don't think there is anything new going on with me. I work and do Younglife...and I hang out with friends when possible. I do have a birthday coming up in a week. It doesn't really seem like a big deal. 23 is just another number, I guess.

I must get back to work now...

Things I love

The past few days have made me miss being in school. It's been icy and snowy, but unfortunately with a real job in the real world you don't get snow days as easily. I actually went in a few hours late today because I had to clean off my car. It was my own snow day, I guess.

I felt like it was time for an update and I thought I would list some of the things that I love. I thought it might be fun.

Vanilla yogurt covered raisins
Sweet tea
Watching movies with friends
Baking
Coffee
Seeing movies in the theater
Musicals
Singing
Dancing
Cereal
Cinnamon on most anything
Caramel lattes
Friends the TV show and real people
Kickboxing
Reading
Pizza
The smell of baking cookies
London
Little dogs
Text messaging
Gummi Bears
Candy Corn
Cinnamon Dolce Lattes
Watching snow fall
Looking at the stars

Those are just a few of the things that I love...it makes me happy to think about these things.

New Year

Welcome 2009! Where did 2008 go?

I cannot believe that I graduated from college and now have a real job. All in this last year. I am a real live person now! I became a licensed insurance producer, a notary public and I pay my own health insurance. I'm an adult! The thing is, though, I still feel like such a kid. I think I will always be a kid at heart. There is some immaturity in me that I don't think I'll ever outgrow, and I wouldn't want to.
